Thomas (Tom) Roberts P.E., C.F.M.
Mr. Roberts currently serves as the Interim President of the Board of Directors at Blacksburg Chinese School. He served an one-year term as the Principal of the Blacksburg Chinese School and was the chair of the Facilities Committee. He currently works and is a partner/owner of H2R Engineering Inc. a site development Civil Engineering design firm. He has worked as a consulting civil engineer for 34 years and a public servant as Regional Dam Safety Engineer for the State of Virginia for 17 years. Tom has served as a volunteer on many boards and committees including the Montgomery County Economic Development Authority Board for 8 years. Mr. Roberts has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Dan Sable, Ph.D.
Dr. Sable is the founder and CEO of VPT, Inc. He earned an S.B. degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He started his career with RCA Astro-Electronics in 1978, designing electronic circuits and systems for satellites. In 1993, he co-founded VPT and has grown VPT to be the world’s leading supplier of advanced DC-DC power converters for military, commercial aerospace, and space applications. Dr. Sable orchestrated the successful acquisition of VPT by HEICO Corporation in 2009.
In 2012, Dr. Sable accepted the position of Adjunct Professor of Practice in the Virginia Tech Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and now teaches one class per semester. He serves on the boards of several companies and assists several local entrepreneurs in business start-ups. In 2018, Dr. Sable was inducted into the Virginia Tech Academy of Engineering Excellence.
Alan Wang, Ph.D.
Dr. Wang is the Secretary of the Blacksburg Chinese School Board of Directors. He is the Andersen Professor in Business Information Technology at Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech. He received a B.E. in Industrial & Management Engineering at Tianjin University, a M.S. in Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University, and a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems at the University of Arizona. He has been a coworker and a housegroup leader at Blacksburg Chinese Church for more than a decade. He also served as a founding coach of a local First Lego League (FLL) robotics team, Brickadon, who won the Blacksburg Regional FLL Tournament and advanced to the State Championship three times.
Jim Wang, Ph.D.
Dr. Wang is the president of LA PharmaTech and has worked on drug R&D for more than 20 years. He is a parent of a former BCS student and is a long-time resident of Blacksburg.
Yiguo Wang
Mr. Wang has worked for large medical firms such as Siemens, Abbott Labs and PRA Health Sciences. After working for more than 15 years in big-data analytics in the U.S., Mr. Wang and his business partners founded an AI-based Business Insights company in Shanghai, China. He is also the General Manager of Global Business for Winner Technology, a Shanghai based IPO company focusing on big data in retail industry. Mr. Wang received his BA in International Economics from Remin University of China and MBA from University of Wisconsin.
