Join us for a 30-minute story time conducted in Mandarin Chinese with support of English and participants’ cultural background knowledge. With the support of English and the participants’ native cultural understanding, they can easily follow the storyline even though the story is delivered in Mandarin Chinese. Children are able to acquire Chinese by enjoying and engaging in a story without feeling unsure. Instead, they can use their acquired knowledge of the English language to decode the Chinese language and further strengthen their cognitive skills!
